Lee C. Lamoreux, age 81, passed away at his home in Stephens City, Virginia on February 11, 2017.
Lee has not walked this journey alone, his wife of 37 years has been by his side 24/7. He has had so many neighbors, friends and family members here in the USA and England on his side, walking with him every step of the way with their thoughts, love and prayers.
Lee was born in Shavertown, Pennsylvania September 5, 1935 and was the son of the late Earl and Thelma Carr Lamoreux.
Lee was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, a Pilot with the rank of Captain, having served in Korea, Thule Greenland and other posts throughout the USA.
His professional life was spent in the Washington, DC area as Director of Western Union International. While there he worked on the Apollo 11 mission to the moon on July 20, 1969 and the Skylab Program in February 1974. He was involved in the White House Telecommunication, and the telecommunications during the Vietnam conflict with his company. He also flew in Airforce One, when President Nixon travelled to the Azores. He then moved on to Georgetown University where he managed the Telecommunications dept. He helped install the telephones systems at the Washington Dulles airport while it was being built.
Lee is a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Elmer Timberman Lodge No. 54, Annandale, VA. He was also a Lena Shiner n Annandale, VA.
Arrangements were made by his wife, Joyce, and their most beloved niece, Connie Marshall, our Guardian Angel. Joyce would like to give special thanks to her niece for her undying support and love throughout this long journey for her and her husband. And to her nephew, Markie Marshall, who found a singer and Taps player for Lee, to send him on his final journey.
Thank you to the Winchester Hospital, VA and its entire staff, and to the Blue Ridge Hospice Organization, VA, with a special thanks to Matt, his nurse, for taking care of Lee who helped him each day to reach his final destination.

The good Lord sent us two very unexpected “special angels” our new neighbors – Sir Paul and Vernita Coulliette. Words cannot express what my heart feels for you, the caring and love you gave in our time of need.
Lee is survived by his wife, Joyce Lamoreux, and his son, Dr. Jon Lamoreux and daughter-in-law, Doreen Lamoreux of Wales, Massachusetts.
Lee will be cremated at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home in Berryville, Virginia and then interred at his family grave site at Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Trucksville, PA, next to his most beloved grandfather, on April 8, 2017 at 12:00 Noon.
