Blanche Jobe Ashby, 97, of Boyce, Virginia, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to many, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Ms. Ashby was born May 14, 1919 in Page County, Virginia, the daughter of the late David Benton Jobe and Beatrice Presgraves Jobe.
She was retired from Doubleday Publishing in Berryville.
She was a member of Boyce United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Garland Ashby of Boyce, VA; a brother, Tyson Jobe (Sheila) of Stephens City, VA; a grandson, David Wayne Ashby (Lisa); a step grandson, Eugene Kelly Burke; a great-grandson, Ryan Michael Ashby (Dakota); a step great-grandson, Edward Linton (Kim); a great-great-granddaughter, Athena Rose Ashby; and three step great-great-grandchildren, Destiny Burke, Nathaniel Burke, and Jaxson Linton.
A daughter, Janet Louise Ashby, and two sisters, Leona Getts and Jessie Jones, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:00 P. M. Monday, January 16, 2017 and a funeral service will follow at 2:00 P. M. at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville with Rev. Martha Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.
