Ann Harrison Jones, 83, of Berryville, Virginia, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 in a local nursing home.
Ms. Jones was born September 16, 1933 in Berryville, Virginia, daughter of the late Ralph “Bus” McCall Jones and Mattie Williams Jones.
Ann received her Bachelor’s in Education from Storer College in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Ann continued to pursue higher education at the University of Virginia in Petersburg, Virginia. Ann taught elementary school in Loudoun County for eleven years prior to moving to Montclair, New Jersey where she taught elementary age children for nineteen years. Ann had a deep love for children and encouraging all she came into contact with to be the very best they can be! Ann retired from the Montclair school system in 1997 and returned to her hometown of Berryville.
Ann was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Berryville.
Surviving are two brothers, Tyson Jones of Lauderhill, FL and Paul Jones of Berryville, VA.
Her sister, Margaret “Peggy” Carter and brothers, John Jones, Albert Jones and Ralph M. Jones, Jr., all preceded her in death.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 A. M. Saturday, January 7, 2107 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville, VA with Rev. Fran Gardner-Smith officiating. Burial will be private.
